School Story:
Memories...walking home from school with friends (3 miles) in blizzards (20 below) without hat or gloves; riding in someone's funky jalopy of a car in blizzards with no defrost and bad battery and no door on the passenger side and having to jump out at destination as he slowed down so the car wouldn't stall; writing and exchanging funny/bad poetry notes with friends in detention and study/hall "her hair so black, her sweater so red, to match the bow in her head..."; ironing eachother's hair; Gilmour Hall; apple crisp from the school cafeteria; hearing about JFK death in gym class--shock, tears and conversations that included dying before having sex.
